What does that mean? Figg's color traits are not dominant so the dam will determine the expression of his puppies.

Tan points (atat) are not dominant, meaning two copies are needed; however, expression of the A locus is controlled by the K locus. The K locus must be "kyky" or tan points will be hidden. Chocolate (bb) and long hair (TT) are also not dominant and require two copies to be expressed.
